This is a website housing Tyler Wilde's portfolio. Not everything could fit on a resume and a cover letter, so I built this website so you can learn more about me. Here you will find my resume, contact info, interests and some pictures i've captured throughout my years as a wildland firefighter and drone shots. Enjoy.
I was born and raised in rural Montana and graduated from Frenchtown high school. I grew up playing baseball, basketball, soccer, and track and field. I was offered two scholarships out of state, but I wanted to pursue my studies at the University of Montana College of Business. I went into college immediately after high school with no idea what I wanted to study. Because most of my energy in high school had been devoted to athletics, I struggled in my first year of college and had a low GPA and left after one year. My desire to help people in the world drove me to spend the next six years fighting wildland fires. During that time, I became a father which made me choose a more sustainable career with a consistent schedule and income to provide for my son, Carter.
To re-enter college in 2019 I wrote a letter to the dean’s office to petition my acceptance back into college and was placed on academic probation. I have worked tirelessly for two years to bring my GPA up and demonstrate my commitment to my education. and discovered my passion for both business and technology and chose to major in Management Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science. With some challenges from my past GPA, I had to jump through several hoops to get back in. Like firefighting, I want to impact the world and I see technology and business as one of the most tangible ways to do that. I graduated from college in May of 2022 majoring in Management Information Systems and a minor in Computer Science. I finished with a GPA of 3.1 and made the Dean's List three times. I'm grateful for my experience, and the people who helped me achive this rewarding feat.
As a non-traditional first-generation African American student, I have worked hard to earn valuable experience as a firefighter, ski instructor, security officer, IT Business Analyst, and father. I will bring relevant skills like professionalism, leadership, communication, and problem-solving that I have learned in these roles into my business and technology career. I have made mistakes, learned from them, and even taught a few how not to make those same mistakes. I am well equipped to handle life’s problems to make my job a priority in life. I possess a sharp eye for detail, which I use to precisely navigate every problem that I face. In turn, that is also my weakness. I get caught up in the details and forget to take a step back to look at the big picture sometimes. Because of this, I would work well with a group of diverse thinkers with a common goal of family-oriented camaraderie. I work well under pressure and can produce high-quality work in a short period. I have strong interpersonal skills, a well-versed client communications background, and leadership ability. I hope these skills line up well with what you are looking for in this role.
I am looking for an opportunity to work with a team that stands out from the rest with clear communication and great leadership. A company that wants someone who thrives on challenging problems based around technology, business, and innovation. I want to align myself with a company that is looking for an energetic, intelligent, and enthusiastic person that allows flexibility and diverse thinking within the company. One that helps pave the way for new ideas that help the world in a thriving field. I believe I can create a positive change by shedding new light on any project. I am always looking to learn more, ask questions, and think outside the box. I am looking for a career to open up a new chapter in life.
